I just got married, and my new spouse is abusive. Can I get my marriage annulled?
Abuse, unfortunately, is not a grounds for annulment. You can, however, file for divorce and seek a protective order. If your abusive spouse coerced you into marriage or did something fraudulent that you can prove, however, you may be able to get an annulment. In either scenario, you need to meet with a skilled lawyer. Abusers often become very aggressive during the divorce process, so you need an aggressive and knowledgeable attorney on your side.
