John Michael Franks
Fort Worth Divorce Attorney
Jon Michael Franks
Jon Michael Franks has practiced family law since 1966. He was one of the first attorneys in Texas certified as a specialist in family law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. “I exclusively practice family law and have been in practice for 47 years,” Mr. Franks said. “I am very attentive and detailed oriented. I strive to help my clients successfully navigate through what is usually a horrible period in the least traumatic way possible.
While mediation and collaboration are useful tools in settling family law disputes, not every case qualifies and some cases will ultimately end up in the courtroom. It is in the courtroom that Franks 47 years of experience in family law are even more evident. As a well-respected trial lawyer, his experience has helped earn him an invitation in 1988 to become a Fellow in the prestigious American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. Only 1,700 lawyers in the entire nation are Fellows of the Academy. With even more specific training ranging from collaborative law, family law mediation, asset discovery and custody cases, Franks is a true expert in the family law arena.
“I work with my clients to determine exactly what they want to accomplish prior to planning a legal strategy,” he said. “The solution often includes creative approaches, collaboration, negotiations, mediation or arbitration as alternatives to litigation.”
Mr. Franks has been recognized as a leader in his field by Texas Monthly Magazine ever since it started publishing it’s list of “Super Lawyers”. He has garnered the publication’s coveted “Super Lawyer” status for ten years in a row. These awards, which are voted on by fellow attorneys, are high honors in the Texas law industry, and only five percent of attorneys in Texas are named as “Super Lawyers”. Mr. Franks has been named, for several years, a “Top Attorney” in Tarrant County by Ft. Worth, Magazine. Mr. Franks is a recipient of Grapevine’s Business Hall of Fame award.
Mr. Franks practice philosophy and work his ethic make him a perfect fit at the Wynne Law Firm. Mr. Franks practices primarily out of the Firm’s Grapevine office but he is available for appointments in our Ft. Worth Office.
